Fort Myers, FL – Social worker and former corrections officer, Kizzie Fowler, wants to make Lee County a stable place for families today and tomorrow. Fowler announces her candidacy for Lee County Board of County Commissioners District 5, representing East Lee County - Lehigh, Buckingham, and Alva. Although candidates must live in their district, everyone in Lee County votes for commissioners.

“Right now, East Lee County is being ignored. We are the tax base for the county, and we don’t get our fair share in investment.” Fowler states.

Kizzie Fowler was born and raised in Pahokee, a small tight knit city that sits off the coast of Lake Okeechobee. She’s the youngest of four children, raised by a single mother, who held two to three jobs to make ends meet. Fowler is a mother of five beautiful children and married 22 years to her husband, Cornelius Fowler.

Fowler continues, “I plan to involve the public in commission decisions through listening and participation. I’m here to be the people’s voice.”

Fowler has 20 years of experience in healthcare, education, corrections, social work, and nonprofit organizations. She attended Pahokee Middle Senior High School Class of 1998. Fowler also attended Palm Beach State College. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Florida Gulf Coast University and is currently a graduate student in the MPA program there.

Kizzie Fowler’s 2024 Campaign Kickoff Event is Saturday, April 6 from 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm at Mugs N Jugs in Lehigh. The public is welcome to attend. Contributions start at $25.
